BACKGROUND AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

BSc in Environmental Science, MSc in Applied Microbiology and PhD in Microbiology. Along my PhD thesis, I became proficient in optimizing and developing a number of optical and electron high-resolution microscopy techniques with the aim to assess the effect of environmental changes and metal stress on coastal microbial mats communities. These investigations led me to perform an international stay in the Microbial Ecology/Biogeochemistry Lab at NASA Ames Research Center (California, USA). In parallel to my research, I also gained experience teaching to undergraduate students as a part-time lecturer (Dept. of Genetics and Microbiology, UAB; Dept. of Food Engineering and Biotechnology, UPC). Since 2023, I am the technician in charge of coordinating and supervising the operation and analysis of the chromatographic equipment at the ICM Chromatography Laboratory, which now already hosts four gas chromatography (GC), three mass spectrometry (MS) and one semi-preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) systems.
